The first days...

We have a had a wonderfully busy first two weeks!
Take a look at all that we have already done:
Upon arrival every morning, we have a table time activity.
The first day, we had two different toys out for the kids to choose from.
Colin, Wyatt, Ni'Chari and Zachary chose bristle blocks.
Phoebe enjoyed the Mr. Potato Head sets.
Lucas made some friends!
Tyler was adding his body parts.
Another part of our daily routine is centers.
We rotate between 4 different assigned centers each day.
Zachary and Tyler worked some puzzles.
Wyatt helped Tyler with putting in the last  piece.
Colin and Lucas played at the train table with Mrs. Sageser.
Phoebe enjoyed the toy center.
Ni'Chari at the toy center with Phoebe.
The first week our theme was school, so we went on a scavenger hunt
to find items in our classroom. Phoebe used the iPad to take pictures of the cubbies.
 Lucas found the computers.
Wyatt found our circle time calendar.
On Tuesday morning our table time activity was cutting paper and using glue sticks.

At the painting center, the kids worked on painting a school bus.
You start with a yellow rectangle, then you add black circles for wheels.

Phoebe and Ni'Chari used Tinker Toys at the fine motor center.

Wyatt, Tyler and Zachary at the toy center.
Colin and Lucas at the toy center.
Ni'Chari and Phoebe at the blocks center.

Lucas and Zachary at the books and iPad center.
We had an in-class motor group the first week,
in which we set up an obstacle course to navigate.
Wyatt jumped over the logs, using two feet to take off and land.
Tyler jumped from hoop to hoop.
Lucas walked across the rocks, careful not to fall into the alligator water!
 Phoebe jumped the logs…great job!

 Zachary demonstrated crawling under.
On Thursday we cooked, mixing up a friendship snack mix.
Everyone got to add an ingredient to the mix.
We had raisins, cereal and pretzels.

Then everyone had a chance to stir.
We ate it afterwards, and it was so tasty!
During the second week, our theme was body parts, and we focused on Mat Man.
This activity addresses body awareness, naming parts, and counting parts.
We assembled Mat Man as a group...
…and individually.

We drew Mat Man as a group...

 …and individually.

One of our table time activities was copying forms and drawing simple pictures on a marker board.

Finally on Thursday, it was time to cook again!
We popped popcorn in our air popper…YUM!

waiting...

 finally some is coming out...

aaaahh…we get to EAT!

Love that smile!
Hope you've enjoyed our pictures…we'll see you next time!
